It was VSP’s 6th time this year at Pratibimb 2018-an Exhibition cum sale event organised by Rangoonwala Foundation India Trust (RFIT). Our focus was on raising awareness about organic products and taking them directly from the farmers to the customers.

VSP has been working since 1990 with deprived communities in rural parts of Maharashtra enabling the communities to improve Sustainability of Livelihood status, Education and assert Dignity of disadvantaged communities. Our three key focus areas are Quality Education, Sustainable Livelihood and Soil & Water Conservation.
We have been working extensively in the Konkan, Vidarbha and other drought affected rural regions of Maharashtra to reach out to people who are in dire need of this help.

A big part of our work has been in promoting Sustainable Agricultural practices through Parisar Bag – A model for improving household nutrition and income and Nature Farming and other high yield cultivation methods. All of the produce made by the groups that we support is completely organic and free from chemicals and we were really excited to see the response to our organic products right from dals, turmeric, chilli to pickles, papad, mango pulp, honey and flour was very positive.
Apart from this, VSP works towards livestock based enterprises like goat rearing and poultry, which are an income generating activity for Mahila Bachat Gats (Women Self Help Groups). We are also involved in water conservation, quality education and youth development initiatives across Maharashtra.

All in all, it was very well received event for both RFIT as well as VSP with great footfalls and a mix of new as well as old repeat customers. Pratibimb 2018 fostered a spirit of communion among all the NGO’s and community centers involved and we look forward to seeing you there next year too!!!
